Britney Spears has yet another new lawyer in the custody battle for sons Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline.

Stacy D. Phillips will represent Spears, facing off against Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan. Phillips previously has represented celebrity clients such as Bobby Brown and Darryl Strawberry, as well as the ex-spouses of Axl Rose, Tori Spelling, and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

The interior designer, a friend of Anna Nicole Smith, last night set up camp outside Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to hold what he called a “visual” for Britney Spears.

The pop star had been hospitalized at the center after an hours-long standoff involving her two sons. Police were called to Spears’s home earlier in the evening after she refused to return her son, Jayden James, to his father, Kevin Federline, as arranged by their custody agreement. Spears, reportedly under the influence of an unknown substance, was taken from her home on a gurney and transported to Cedars-Sinai in an ambulance.

A Los Angeles judge ruled Wednesday that Kevin Federline will retain custody of his two boys with Spears but said the troubled singer can have supervised visitation rights.

The decision was actually a step forward for Spears, who was ordered Monday to hand over her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, because she had failed to undergo random drug testing, counseling, and parenting classes.
