We’re not sure that the president-elect is doing L.L. Bean any favors.
Until he tweeted the above, most people were probably unaware of the call for a boycott of the company.
L.L. Bean was added to the #GrabYourWallet boycott list after it was revealed that director and heir Linda Bean had given $60,000 to a PAC that supported the Trump campaign.
Company Chairman Shawn Gorman posted a response on Facebook, saying he was “deeply troubled by the portrayal of L.L.Bean as a supporter of any political agenda.”
“Like most large families, the more than 50 family member-owners of the business hold views and embrace causes across the political spectrum, just as our employees and customers do,” he said. “And as every member of the family would agree, no individual alone speaks on behalf of the business or represents the values of the company that L.L. built.”
