American concerns about the upheaval in Ukraine are not simply humanitarian.

The interactive Muckety map above shows public companies with Ukraine-based subsidiaries, along with members of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council. (Roman Popadiuk, former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, is now an adviser to the trade group.)

Many firms have warned investors that activities in Ukraine could affect the bottom line.

Morgan Stanley worries that “events in Ukraine may have effects on global growth if allowed to further escalate.”

Emerson Electric has noted “dampened demand” in the region.

Coca-Cola reports a drop in Coke consumption and Anheuser-Busch InBev is concerned that beer drinking may ebb.

Philip Morris International attributes declining cigarette sales in Ukraine to “a worsening economy and business disruption due to the political instability in the east of the country,” although one might expect anxious Ukrainians to smoke even more.
