JPMorgan Chase and the Fortune 500

Support for Jamie Dimon’s pay raise extends far beyond the boardroom of JPMorgan Chase.

Company directors, in a decision announced last week, awarded Dimon $20 million for his work in 2013, despite big legal and business setbacks during the year.

Some in the financial world, including billionaire investor Warren Buffett, suggested that Dimon was worth even more.

Clearly, the culture of whopping compensation packages for top CEOs isn’t limited to JPMorgan or to the financial sector.

As the interactive Muckety map above shows, JPMorgan execs and directors hold sway at many other Fortune 500 companies.

William C. Weldon, former chairman of Johnson & Johnson, is a director not only of JPMorgan, but of three other Fortune firms: Exxon Mobil, Chubb and CVS Caremark.

Director Stephen Burke, CEO of NBCUniversal, sits on the board of Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway.

Altogether, our map encompasses 15 Fortune companies in addition to JPMorgan.
