Life is tough beyond Stars Hollow

If there’s a TV credit more inauspicious than being a Disney girl, it’s being a Gilmore Girl.

The young ladies of contented Stars Hollow grew up to suffer all sorts of slings and arrows.

  • Rory (Alexis Bledel) went on to hook up with Pete Campbell on “Mad Men,” an act that inevitably led her to electro-shock therapy. (As the video below demonstrates, Rory showed these proclivities early on.)
  • Lane (Keiko Agena) died in an assassination attempt on President Fitzgerald Grant in “Scandal.”
  • Another of Rory’s old friends, Paris (Liza Weil) also met an ugly fate on “Scandal.” She was Amanda Tanner, a White House intern murdered after claiming to have had sex with the president.

The Gilmore women fared better.

Lorelai (Lauren Graham) was yet another single mother on “Parenthood.” And Sookie (Melissa McCarthy), freed from serial pregnancies and her job at the Dragonfly Inn, became a movie star.
