Rachel McAdams conquers time

Canadian actress Rachel McAdams is the reigning queen of time travel.

McAdams stars in “About Time,” a movie released earlier this month in which her husband and father-in-law can revisit the past by going into dark spaces and clenching their fists.

She also appeared in two other films about the ability to shift the present: “Midnight in Paris” and “The Time Traveler’s Wife.”

The interactive Muckety map above shows major movies revolving around the concept, and other actors who have appeared in more than one such film.

The frequency of the theme in recent years makes one wonder if audiences are particularly susceptible when times are hard.

Yet the concept goes back at least as far as Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Of course, times were tough then for nearly everyone but Scrooge.

Not so different from today.
