Aside from the paparazzi, the sartorial pressures and the scrutiny of a perfectly behaved great-grandmother, Baby Boy Cambridge has the burden of so many names.
The firstborn son of Kate and William likely will not only have four names (yet to be released), but also a succession of titles.
According to a royal decree from Queen Elizabeth II on Prince William’s wedding day, he will officially be known as His Royal Highness Prince of Cambridge.
As has been routine in the past (as if anything in Britain is routine when it comes to royal babies), the name will not be posted along with gender and birth weight (8 pounds, 6 ounces) on the notice board at Buckingham Palace.
The name of Prince William, born in the same hospital as his son, was released several days after Princess Diana gave birth.
One of the reasons for all the fuss, of course, is that the babe could one day be king of England. Yet another title to remember.
