One of the oddest stories in recent days comes from seattlepi.com, which reports that Jody Allen, sister of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, is accused of trying to smuggle giraffe bones out of Botswana.
Jody Allen is president and CEO of Vulcan Inc., which her billionaire brother founded in 1986 to manage his businesses and charitable activities. The company has invested in real estate development, telecommunications, technology and other sectors.
According to seattlepi.com, the company also employs an elite security team staffed by combat veterans, who are paid to protect Paul and Jody Allen and Jody Allen’s children.
Former members of the team have filed a series of lawsuits against the Allens, accusing Jody Allen of sexual harassment and suggested that Vulcan was using confidentiality agreements to cover up criminal actions such as the bone smuggling.
Vulcan’s attorney told reporters the claims were “meritless.”
