‘Pride and Prejudice’ turns 200

By Laurie Bennett

January 29, 2013 at 10:51am

So we hope Jane Austen will forgive our tardiness in noting that “Pride and Prejudice” turned 200 yesterday.

Since its publication in 1813, the novel has inspired uncounted movies, knockoffs, websites and spoofs.

Yet Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy haven’t aged a day.
