The Wall Street Journal points out a gem from Carlyle Group’s revised S-1 statement, filed Monday.

Managing director David M. Rubenstein, one of our Top One Percenters, racked up $4.75 million in travel expenses in fiscal 2011.

The company noted that Rubenstein has “an exceptionally rigorous travel schedule,” visiting 24 countries and 33 non-U.S. cities last year.

Rubenstein has his own jet.
