Well-connected tap personal networks for Obama cash

Once again, bundlers are bringing millions of dollars into an Obama presidential bid.

The latest list released by the campaign shows more than 100 people who’ve pledged to tap wealthy friends and colleagues. Our map below shows some of the most influential.

Hollywood heavywight Harvey Weinstein has signed on.

Prominent lawyers Gordon Davis of Dewey & LeBoeuf and John Levi of Sidley Austin are also raising funds. Both also raised money for the 2008 campaign.

Although much has been made of Obama losing significant support in the financial sector, the bundler roster also includes Roger Altman of Evercore Partners and Lawrence Fish of RBS America.

Other prominent networkers raising money for the campaign include Burts Bees CEO John Replogle and former Rep. Patrick Kennedy, son of the late Ted Kennedy.

For a full list of Obama bundlers and their connections, see our Obama 2012 page.

Note: We criticized Obama in 2008 for failing to provide more information such as business affiliations and middle initials for this elite group of fundraisers. We should point out that none of the Republican candidates has agreed to release bundler information.
