He’s a legend after his time.
Super Sam Fuld, who turns 30 in November, is the best Jewish diabetic, statistics-loving, Stanford-educated player in major league baseball.
And those death-defying catches!
Fuld also has some impressive connections.
He’s a graduate of the prestigious prep school, Phillips Exeter Academy. Other alumni include Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, President Franklin Pierce, and uncounted members of Congress.
His father, Ken Fuld, is dean of the college of liberal arts at the University of New Hampshire. His mother, Amanda Merrill, is a New Hampshire state senator.
Richard Fuld, former head of Lehman Brothers and director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, is his second cousin.
As an acrobatic outfielder for Tampa, Fuld has become an Internet phenomenon. The #LegendofSamFuld Twitter hashtag is one of our favorites.
