Consider it a billionaire coming-out party.
Nathaniel Rothschild, dubbed a “rising star of the super-rich” by the Guardian, is celebrating his 40th birthday with a £1 million ($1.6 million U.S.) bash in Montenegro.
The celebration started Thursday and will continue through Saturday night.
On the guest list, according to reports in the British press and Page Six, are fellow billionaires Steve Schwarzman, Oleg Deripaska and Peter Munk; Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon; and former BP chief Tony Hayward.
Rothschild may be hoping to deduct some of the costs, as some of the invitees are also business partners. He and Munk are co-investors in real estate company TriGranit Development. Rotschild and Hayward are partners in Vallares Plc, an oil and gas venture.
Rothschild’s father, Jacob Rothschild, is an advisory board member at Schwarzman’s company, Blackstone Group.
Schwarzman also may have provided a few party tips. In 2007, he threw himself a 60th birthday celebration with entertainment provided by Patti LaBelle and Rod Stewart.
