Wall Street Journal columnist Jeffrey Zaslow has landed yet another whopping book deal.

According to the Associated Press, Zaslow is working with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, on their memoir. Giffords is recovering from head wounds suffered in January, when a crazed gunman shot 19 people. Kelly announced today that he is retiring from NASA and the Navy, after heading the last mission of space shuttle Endeavor.

Two years ago, Zaslow co-authored Highest Duty with Capt. Sully Sullenberger, who had safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after it was disabled by a bird strike.

The Giffords-Kelly book will no doubt be an emotional tale, and Zaslow has experience in the genre.

In 2007, he attended the final lecture of Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, who was dying of pancreatic cancer. His column about Pausch’s message led to mass media coverage and a book, “The Last Lecture.”

The video of Pausch, who died in 2008 at age 47, has been viewed more than 13 million times on YouTube. Even if you’ve already seen it, you should watch it again:
