The Associated Press notes that Comcast spent $5.7 million in the first quarter of this year to lobby for federal approval of its takeover of NBC Universal.
The deal was approved in January, enabling Comcast to take a majority stake in the joint venture, with plans to buy the remainder in the future. General Electric is now a minority partner.
