Government of the millionaires, by the millionaires and for the millionaires?
A study by the Center for Responsive Politics shows that 237 members of Congress have assets of $1 million or more.
The center crunched data from personal financial disclosure forms and found that the richest member was California Republican Darrell Issa, who made his fortune as founder of Directed Electronics.
Another Californian, Democrat Jane Harman, ranked second. Her husband, Sidney, heads Harman International Industries.
The hurt of the recession, however, extends even to Congress. The number of millionaires in 2008 was down slightly - by two - from the prior year.
