Count David Plouffe the first, but undoubtedly, not the last of President-elect Barack Obama’s team to write a book – and of course, to hire uber-lawyer Robert Barnett to represent him.
The book by Obama’s campaign manager is tentatively titled The Audacity To Win, a reference to his boss’s bestselling The Audacity Of Hope.
Plouffe says he has no plans to dish about his candidate, or any others, but will lay out how he managed one of the most sophisticated campaigns ever.
“Hopefully, there will be some lessons on how to put together a three-quarters-of-a-billion-dollar operation,” Plouffe told the Associated Press, saying the book would be high on tactics, low on gossip, and include critiques of rival campaigns, including that of Hillary Rodham Clinton.
“I don’t have a huge interest in scoring points,” he said.
The 41-year-old consultant, who said he hopes to have the book ready by next fall, has already gotten his former boss’s blessing - with a few tips thrown in.
“His only advice to me was `Don’t damage your reputation by writing a bad book,’” Plouffe said.
Barnett is expected to begin meeting with publishers this week. A consummate Washington dealmaker he has represented Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bill Clinton and Howard Wolfson, among others, in their book-writing exploits.
His marketing strategy for Plouffe?
“There will be many books about the Obama campaign, but only one from the campaign itself,” Barnett said, noting that most of Obama’s campaign aides are joining his administration.

Hey David, you gonna tell us where the money really came from? Or better yet, where the hell did Obama come from? Maybe you could let us see his college transcript since he’s sooooooooooo smart, or tell us how he got away with never having to prove that he is even eligible for POTUS, or just where did that money come from that educated him and allowed him to travel all over the world (Pakistan on an Indonesian passport) when he was younger. Unless you are going to include something resembeling the truth, I won’t be wasting my money or time on it. Oh, oh, and maybe if you tell us who really wrote Dreams of My Father……………Bill Ayers?

My question to all of you is- was he himself, Plouffed!?
Is this simply marketing genius in its highest form, from the grassroots up!?
What do you think?
