The economy may be crashing and burning, but luxe New York City apartments are still being offered at scarifying prices.
The latest high-end listing is a 78th-floor penthouse at the Time Warner Center with 360-degree views of the city. The price? A cool $65 million, which doesn’t include monthly maintenance fees and taxes of $29,693.

The 25 Columbus Circle property is believed to be owned by J. Joe Ricketts, the founder of TD Ameritrade, the online stock brokerage company, who paid $29.2 million for the 8,300-square-foot spread in 2006.
Brown Harris Stevens, which is handling the sale, rhapsodizes this way about the condo’s attributes:
A master bedroom suite encompasses an office, his-and-her dressing rooms, gym and his-and-her bathrooms. The 41 ft.-long living room with floor-to-ceiling windows has the most incredible view of Manhattan. The red lacquered corner library/office also commands a special place of solitude in this apartment. A full dining room with views of the Hudson River is a room of understated luxury. A chef’s kitchen and pantry, a full laundry center, four full bedrooms with en-suite baths and a screening room, round out this amazing property.
The center, which overlooks Central Park at Columbus Circle, also offer amenities such as a screening room, outdoor roof deck, gym, spa, ballroom and the pool of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Residents include at least several billionaires, among them: Thomas M. Siebel, the founder of Siebel Systems, a software company sold several years ago to Oracle; John W. Kluge, the television industry mogul; Jon L. Stryker, heir to a medical equipment fortune; and real-estate developer Stephen M. Ross.
