Homer Simpson: another frustrated voter

Homer Simpson’s choice for the next president of the United States has leaked to the internet.

According to a clip from an upcoming episode of Fox’s long-running cartoon, The Simpsons, Homer’s endorsement is for Barack Obama.

Is it a ringing endorsement? Not exactly.

As Homer steps up to cast his ballot, he announces he wants to vote for “anything that will take money away from our parks and libraries.”

Homer Simpson, often cited as representing the typical middle American man, then chooses to vote for Obama.

However, Homer is unable to cast his vote for the candidate of his choice. His vote registers for John McCain, while Homer exclaims, “This doesn’t happen in America, maybe Ohio, but not in America!”

After deciding there is a conspiracy at work, Homer is chewed up and spit out by the voting machine and appears lifeless. The context of the clip is unknown, and the full episode is rumored to air on Nov. 2.

The clip doesn’t clearly endorse either candidate, but certainly suggests Republican control over voting sites.

While Simpson’s creator Matt Groening hasn’t given to either political campaign, according to the FEC, longtime Simpsons actor Hank Azaria, the voice of Chief Wiggum, has consistently given in support of the Democratic ticket.
