Lynn Forester de Rothschild

Topping last week’s list of top searches on Muckety was Lynn Forester de Rothschild, the former Hillary Clinton supporter who threw her support behind GOP candidate John McCain.

In a Muckety post, Carol Eisenberg notes that de Rothschild’s defection may embarrass Democrats given de Rothschild’s involvement with the Democratic National Committee’s platform committee and the efforts by Barack Obama’s campaign to reach out to Clinton supporters - especially women.

An earlier post on Muckety noted that de Rothschild has had long been a power player, counting the Clintons and Tony Blair as good friends. Former husband Andrew Stein is former New York City Council president.

Susan Mikula

Slipping down one spot from last week’s top searches was artist Susan Mikula, who continues to generate interest because of the elevated profile of her partner Rachel Maddow. Maddow recently launched her new TV show on MSNBC. “The Rachel Maddow Show” debuted on Sept. 7.

Edward Liddy

During the financial crisis on Wall Street last week, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson asked his old friend Edward Liddy to take the helm of American International Group after the federal government was forced to bailout the insurance giant.

Five years ago, when Paulson ran investment house Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Paulson picked Liddy to join the company’s board of directors.

Lisa Gores

Earlier this year Lisa Gores was a witness in the trial of Hollywood private eye Anthony Pellicano. Her ex-husband, financier Alec Gores, allegedly hired Pellicano to investigate whether she was having an affair with his brother. Lisa Gores was in the news this week after the New York Post reported that she was dating Brad Garrett, former co-star of the hit television show “Everybody Loves Raymond.”

Garrett’s newest venture is a web/reality show called “Dating Brad Garrett,” on which he dates women he meets on the Internet. The Post says Garrett “has tried to keep his new romance under wraps due to his online dating show. He and the woman believed to be Lisa Gores have been seen in New York and Los Angeles since March. ‘Dating Brad Garrett,’ produced by Sony TV, premieres soon on Crackle, YouTube and Hulu.”

Miley Cyrus

Hanna Montana star Miley Cyrus rounds out this week’s top five searches as news broke of her collaboration with Nicholas Sparks on a new screenplay. Sparks is creating a new novel and screenplay simultaneously, with Miley Cyrus in the leading role.
