Rothschild continues to pitch Hillary Clinton as ‘beacon of hope’

Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild is one millionaire backer of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton who still hasn’t let go.

For starters this week, she dissed the presumptive Democratic candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, on national TV.

In an interview on CNN, de Rothschild said of Obama, “Frankly, I don’t like him. I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Her characterization of Obama as “elitist” hasn’t gone over well with his supporters.

They have been quick to point out that de Rothschild, a millionaire in her own right, is also the wife of Sir Evelyn Robert Adrian de Rothschild, an extraordinarily wealthy member of the British peerage.

“You have the name de Rothschild and you are calling him an elitist,” wrote Eric, a contributor to a previous posting on de Rothschild.

As a “Hillraiser,” de Rothschild bundled at least $100,000 for Clinton.

She hasn’t given money to Obama. And she’s asked for a meeting with Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, presumably to determine whether she would support his candidacy.

In addition, de Rothschild and some other Clinton backers have created the website as a kind of community sounding board for those who saw Clinton as a “great beacon of hope.”

“We are being asked to embrace Party Unity without the fair representation of Hillary Clinton and her 18 million supporters,” states a Pledge of Togetherness on the site.

“Party Unity requires bilateral action. We ask Barack Obama and the (Democratic National Committee) to respond.”

The pledge also calls for “a concerted effort to erase (Clinton’s) campaign debt.”

And it asks that Clinton’s name be placed in nomination at the Democratic Convention and that the primary and caucus system for nominating the Democratic presidential candidate be reformed.

A native of New Jersey and a graduate of Columbia Law School, de Rothschild made millions in the wireless industry.

Once married to Andrew Stein, the former New York City Council president, she married Sir Evelyn de Rothschild in November 2000.

The couple honeymooned at the White House.

Lynn De Rothschild shows what a classic rich brat she can be, ” I am taking my money and going home”. Whats next? I can just see her having a hissy fit on the floor of the convention like a kid having a meltdown in a candy store when told no!
