Cheney no longer worries about loose lips sinking ships

Vice President Dick Cheney has been flaunting his position as a lame duck. With just a few months left in office, he isn’t worried about whom he offends.

Explaining some of his family’s distant connections to Obama, Cheney added that the Cheney family on his father’s side is actually connected to the Cheney family on his mother’s side. Vice President joked, “So I had Cheneys on both sides of the family, and we don’t even live in West Virginia.”

West Virginians weren’t happy with the remark.

Although he’s issued an apology, Cheney’s original addendum to the joke was, “You can say those things when you’re not running for re-election.”
