So, the Rev. Pat Roberson and the Rev. Al Sharpton are sitting on a couch…
It sounds like the setup line for a bad joke, but in reality, the two are having a serious discussion about one of the few topics they agree upon - global climate change.

The Alliance for Climate Protection’s “We Campaign” tapped Robertson and Sharpton to appear in a recent television commercial titled, “Coming together to protect the planet” that is part of a larger campaign aimed at raising awareness about global warming.
In their 30-second spot, Sharpton and Robertson sit on a couch in front of a beach with waves crashing in the background, discussing how they don’t see eye to eye too many things, but on the issues facing our planet they agree that “taking care of it is extremely important.”
“I am honored that Al Gore asked me to be a part of this campaign urging people to take care of the planet,” Robertson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network. “It’s just common sense that we ought to be good stewards of the environment, and do everything within our power to protect this fragile planet that we all live on,” according to an account on the wecansolveit.org web site.
House speaker Nancy Pelosi and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appear in a similar commercial titled, “Speakers speak out on climate change.”
Using the U.S. Capitol as a backdrop for their ad, Pelosi, a liberal Democrat, and Gingrich, a conservative Republican, find common ground on this issue. “We don’t always see eye to eye, do we Newt?” says Pelosi. “No, but we do agree our country must take action to address climate change… if enough of us demand action from our leaders, we can spark the innovation we need,” responds Gingrich. Pelosi closes the ad with a pitch for viewers to visit wecansolveit.org saying “together we can do this.”
The Alliance for Climate Protection is a non-profit organization begun by former Vice President Al Gore after he won the Nobel Prize in 2007. Its mission is to educate people about the urgency of adopting solutions that address climate change. The Alliance’s board of directors include former EPA administrators Carol Browner, Orin S. Kramer and Lee Thomas, as well as former National Security Adviser Brent Scowcroft and Theodore Roosevelt IV, the great-grandson of President Teddy Roosevelt.
To date, over one million people have joined the We Campaign to encourage governments and businesses to join the effort to help stop global warming.

The T.V. Commercial with PAT ROBERTSON & AL SHARPTON is CREEPY! I am amazed & shocked & actually pretty APPALLED, the a Climate Change action group founded by V.P. AL GORE, would choose THESE TWO SHYSTER SCAM ARTISTS!! to be in one of their T.V. p.s.a. commercials!
PAT ROBERTSON is a right-wing phony TELEVANGELIST who PREYS — not “PRAYS” on desperate, poor, uneducated; on the sick, on the mentally ill — like a PHONY PSYCHIC in those T.V. Commercials, his goal is to “trick” as much MONEY from all the Viewers he can, in TAX-FREE “donations”!
Some of PAT ROBERTSON’s schemes in the past have been: Owning a RACE HORSE, even those he PREACHED against GAMBLING (exposure by media forced him to sell the race horse); a SHADY DEAL with a BLOODY, MURDEROUS AFRICAN DICTATOR, of LIBERIA I believe, he went into a Partnership with this Dictator on a DIAMOND mine! You have heard of “BLOOD DIAMONDS”?
Pat Robertson & his 700 Club T.V. show have a CHARITY called “OPERATION BLESSING”, which gets GOD KNOWS HOW MUCH money in Donations from his Viewers. You can BET that if this “CHARITY” were properly INVESTIGATED, that it would not be PRETTY and that they would find he is a CROOK!
When my son was in the U.S. Navy, he & his wife lived in VIRGINIA, while he was stationed at the NORFOLK NAVY BASE. They drove past Rev. Pat Robertson’s HUGE MANSION Estate, with Fancy Gates & a long Driveway, like they have in ENGLAND at all those ROYAL PALACES & ESTATES owned by NOBILITY?
Right down the road from Pat Robertson’s beautiful Palace, FIT FOR A KING, were: two Tin-Roofed SHACKS, where some extremely POOR families obviously lived. The CONTRAST visually between the MANSION of the “700 Club” Phony Televangelist, & these poor people’s homes, was STARK.
My daughter-in-law is a fundamentalist Christian, & she had thought well of Pat Robertson until then (she doesn’t believe in Evolution etc. either, “Home Schools”, all that– a real “true believer”) but after seeing his HUGE MANSION estate, she changed her mind, & now CAN’T STAND the guy!
As for AL SHARPTON, he is & has always been a “scam artist” too, always interested in any way he can use HIS Non-Profit “National Action Network” to get MONEY from gullible people, and like Rev. Pat Robertson, uses RELIGION as well as in Sharpton’s case, RACE, as a Money-Making scheme.
I am a huge supporter of BARACK OBAMA & have been working with our Grassroots network in my area on his Presidential campaign, unlike AL SHARPTON, he is the “real deal”. I am also a member of the ENVIRONMENTAL EVANGELICAL NETWORK, trying to get the CHURCHES to focus on “CREATION CARE” & not on the kind of “Garbage” religious nonsense like the Rev. HAGEE “End Times” & “Left Behind” nihilistic insanity.
I just don’t think that V.P. Al GORE should ASSOCIATE his non-profit with SCAM ARTISTS like Rev. Pat Robertson & Rev. Al Sharpton, & I especially find the “700 Club” Host’s brainwashing of his listeners with the Idea that “FAITH HEALING” will cure their Lung Cancer, or Kidney Stones, or Warts, or whatever the HELL he’s “PRAYING” will supposedly “HEAL” them, one of the most EVIL things a Human being can do!
PLEASE! Take down the T.V. commercials with these two CREEPS, & replace with some REPUTABLE, HONEST supporters of your Foundation!! Unless your goal is to DISCOURAGE people from joining your organization, which is what the Pat Robertson-Al Sharpton Ads are no doubt doing!

I would like drill in alaska for more oil and anywhere else where oil is found. I have not seen any affect mr gore photo op. with the rev. sharp.
Let gore go to China and europe and lecture there if he has not already done so. United States has done more then any nation on this earth to try to keep it healthy and clean.
THe earth is falling yeah right! in a million years.
