Bobby Trendy connects Britney and Anna Nicole

Interior designer Bobby Trendy is living up to his name.

The interior designer, a friend of Anna Nicole Smith, last night set up camp outside Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles to hold what he called a “visual” for Britney Spears.

The pop star had been hospitalized at the center after an hours-long standoff involving her two sons. Police were called to Spears’s home earlier in the evening after she refused to return her son, Jayden James, to his father, Kevin Federline, as arranged by their custody agreement. Spears, reportedly under the influence of an unknown substance, was taken from her home on a gurney and transported to Cedars-Sinai in an ambulance.

Bobby Trendy, who was both friend and interior designer to Anna Nicole Smith, as well as a featured player on her reality television show, showed up outside the hospital with flowers, candles and a photo collage to show his support for the singer.

In video footage posted by TMZ.com, Trendy says “We can’t do anything for Britney. I’m very worried, it seems like it’s the whole Anna Nicole saga all over again. We don’t want Britney to end up like the late Anna Nicole Smith.”

Smith, who reportedly turned to substance abuse after the death of her son Daniel, died from a lethal combination of prescription medications in February 2007. Spears also has been battling substance abuse as she fights Federline for custody of their two sons.

It seems Spears is beginning 2008 with the same media frenzy that kicked off the new year in 2007. Last February, Spears received national attention for publicly shaving her head and checking herself
in and out of rehab facilities.
