After sitting through Pam’s engagement to Roy and Jim’s relationship with Karen, Jim and Pam enthusiasts got their wish in the season three finale. Jim turns down a position at Dunder Mifflin’s corporate headquarters in New York, dumps his current paramour, and asks Pam to dinner.

So what happens next? It’s the beginning of a new era on The Office, with many viewers wondering what plot development will take the place of the tension between Jim and Pam.

Instead of abandoning the theme of office romance, The Office embraces it. Season four brings new romantic developments between Dunder Mifflin staff members. Toby secretly lusts after Pam, while Andy makes his move on a newly single Angela. Michael and Jan have moved in together. Kelly tries to make Ryan, her new boss (and former boyfriend), jealous by hooking up with Darryl.

For now, love is in the air at Dunder Mifflin, but what will our characters do when all possible employee love connections have been exhausted?
